A striking inlay ring from Navajo silversmith William Singer. Brother to renowned artist Tommy Singer, who is credited for developing the chip inlay technique in 1970, William began using chip inlay in 1972. The elongated shape, which I refer to as a "knuckle duster" reaches, as you might guess, from knuckle to knuckle, making it a piece that can't be missed. The turquoise inlay scrolls from top to bottom and accented by deeply struck stamped designs. A size 6.5, the face of the ring measures 1 3/8" high x 11/16" at the widest point. Unmarked for silver content, but tests as sterling & weighs 8.6 grams Marked on the split shank "SDX", a variation of the Singer-Dodge family shop hallmark. In very nice vintage condition, with all inlay intact & displays age appropriate wear.
