For his 12-month combat tour in Vietnam, every American serviceman could expect 2 weeks of R&R (Rest and Relaxation), usually in either Bangkok or Hong Kong. As soon as a GI stepped off the plane in Hong Kong, he would be swarmed by tailors, trying to take his measurements for a brand new custom suit. Many of these tailors offered a complimentary suitcase with the purchase of one of their suits for a bit of extra incentive. This US Vietnam CUSTOM HONG KONG TAILOR R&R SUITCASE is in good condition, moderate scuffing, dent on reverse, with moderate overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the suitcase is in good shape, with absolutely no cracking or other damage to the lightweight leatherette covered composition construction. It features a fully functional dual metal spring lock closure, sports a fully intact brown plastic top carry handle, and is complete with both of the original locking keys.
