Rare 40s - 50s 100% Silk Aloha Hawaiian Shirt Hookano Brand Made in Hawaii Size Large (Oversized) Samurai Shogun Design
Hookano brand it a well documented and known early Aloha Shirt brand and is featured in several collectors guides. Many of the early designs in Aloha Hawaiian shirt making was adapted from Japanese Kimonos and were produced by Japanese artists brought to Hawaii in the early pineapple/sugarcane plantation period. This is an example of the highly prized period of collecting.
Matching patch pocket, horizontal button holes, Asian coin buttons, collar loop. The design is raised like a panted on pattern featuring Samurai type armor over brilliant reds, yellows and corals.
Fantastic condition! In some photos, you can see the pattern from the other side of the cloth. There are no holes stains, or any imperfections found.
