Vintage wooden house shadowbox with diorama. Features two handpainted black & white porcelain skunks: the anthropomorphic skunks could be a parent/baby duo. Larger skunk has a red & white polka dot bow tie. The figurines could be manufactured by Tilso as there is a foil stamp adhered to the bottom. This kitschy style was popular in the mid-20th century, and likely made in Japan in the 1940s, 50s, or 60s. This unique collectible seems to be made from wood and plastic. The shimmery base that the skunks are affixed to has become unglued (see pic) but when resting upright, it lies flat. See pics for condition & approximate measurements. From pet & smoke free home.
