Vintage Original Movie Poster One Sheet (1958) for the film drama based on the 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winning play written by Tennessee Williams & entitled “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” starring Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman (as Brick) & Burl Ives (as Big Daddy). The movie was MGM's most successful release of 1958 & the third highest grossing picture of that year. Taylor was nominated for Best Actress & Newman was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards. The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay & Best Cinematography.
An original vintage one sheet size (27”x41”) poster in fine to very fine condition that has been restored & linenbacked for preservation to protect the integrity of the poster. Prior to restoration, the poster had pinholes around the edges & minute paper loss on some of the fold lines. You can still see signs of wear on some fold lines, a few minor creases around edges & also evidence of restoration. The artwork overall is very stylish.
