You'd be hard-pressed to find cuter vintage kitchen kitsch than this charming salt and pepper set. Featuring a mama chicken and two chicks, this little vintage set offers a huge amount of fun and whimsy. The chicks remove and are the salt and pepper shakers (both still have the original plastic stopper/ inserts in the bottom).
This vintage chicken salt and pepper set shows very little patina which is surprising; paint is worn on one chicks inside beak (easy fix) but no significant cracks or damage. Made in Japan, most likely in the 50s, and marked "Japan" on the bottom.
They are made of ceramic and hand-painted with bright colors. Chicken holder measures 6" long, 4" tall, 2.5" deep. Chick salt and pepper holders are each about 2.5" tall and 1.5" in diameter.
Really just as charming as can be, these chicken salt and pepper shakers are the perfect addition to any vintage kitchen collector. Just precious!!
Stored in a box and from a pet and smoke free environment.
